Client: Buriram Province
Challenge: Buriram Province commissioned our company to organize the Buriram Marathon, an international running event aimed at elevating Buriram as a sports tourism destination at both regional and global levels. The project faced challenges in organizing a marathon competition to meet international standards, attracting both Thai and foreign runners, and creating a memorable experience for all participants, while promoting the economy and tourism in the province.
Our Company’s Approach: Our company developed a comprehensive event management approach with multiple dimensions:
- Design of Standardized and Impressive Running Routes: Developed running routes passing through important landmarks and tourist attractions in Buriram Province, certified by the Athletic Association of Thailand and World Athletics
- Organization of Diverse Competition Categories: Arranged various distance categories including Full Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), Mini Marathon (10 km), and Fun Run (5 km) to accommodate runners of all ability levels
- Modern Registration and Data Management Systems: Developed a user-friendly online registration system with runner data management and real-time race tracking
- Proactive International Promotion: Conducted promotional activities through digital media and specialized running media, as well as collaboration with running organizations and clubs both domestically and internationally
- Integration with Local Culture: Incorporated Buriram’s cultural identity into activities, such as cultural performances, local food, and souvenirs reflecting the province’s unique identity
Results: Buriram Marathon 2025 created a significant phenomenon:
- Over 32,000 runners from around the country and worldwide participated in the competition
- 7,000 volunteers took part in supporting the event
- More than 65,000 supporters and spectators created an exciting atmosphere throughout the route
- Total participation numbering over 100,000 people made Buriram the center of marathon running
- Generated an economic and tourism cyclone worth 850 million baht in the surrounding areas and along the routes where runners flocked to participate
The Buriram Marathon event has helped elevate Buriram Province’s image as an international sports tourism destination, created immense positive impact on the local economy, and promoted community involvement, as well as encouraging good health and running culture in Thai society.
